Rigoberta Menchú

(Guatemala, 1959) is a Guatemalan indigenous leader, member of the Mayan Quiché group, human rights defender, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize (1992) and the Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation (1998).

Rigoberta Menchú she has published five children’s books together with Dante Liano. In them, they show what life is like in the villages of the Maya mountains. The origin of the stories lies in the ancient Mayan oral tradition.
